Centration is introduced by Jean Piaget through his cognitive-development stage theory that is called to focus on one aspect of a situation and neglect others or simultaneously exclude all other aspects. It os often demonstrated in the preoperational stage. In addition, egocentrism is what Piagetian term for a particular type of centration in which the child thinks about the world only from his personal perspective.
