We know the distance formula { Check the attached picture }

We are given the coordinates: ( - 6 , 4 ) and ( - 4 , 2 )

Apply the formula:
[tex] \sqrt{(-4-(-6))^2 + (2 - 4 )^2} [/tex]
[tex] \sqrt{(2)^2+(-2)^2} = \sqrt{4 + 4} = \sqrt{8} [/tex]
 = 2√2 = 2.828427...

Your answer will be [tex]\boxed {= 2.8 \ (to \ the \ nearest \ tenth) }[/tex]
