6x² + 1 = 13

isolate the x, subtract 1 from both sides

6x² + 1 (-1) = 13 (-1)

6x² = 13 - 1

6x² = 12

divide 6 from both sides to isolate the x

6x²/6 = 12/6

x² = 12/6

x² = 2

isolate the x, root both sides to get rid of the square

√x² = √2

x = √2

x = √2 is your answer

hope this helps
