Complementary strand for 5'–ACAGTAT–3' is 3'–TGTCATA–5'. Nucleobase (guanine, cytosine, adeninem, thymine) on one strand bonds with just one type of nucleobase on the other strand (guanine-cytosine and adenine-thymine).
