Tsunamis very often destroy everything on their path: you can see it if you look at pictures of land after tsunami, where everything has been wiped from this area: buildings, streets cars and plants. This depends on the strength of the tsunami and of the structural strength of the buildings: some of them and withstand the force of the tsunami.
