Distribute. 

24x+30=3x+24+3

24x+30=3x+27

Subtract 30 on both sides. 

24x= 3x-3

Subtract 3x on both sides. 

21x=3

Divide both sides by 21. 

x=0.142857... the question said hundredth so:

x=0.143
