She strengthened the power of the crown and the monarchy as a whole.
Maria Theresa was a Habsburg monarch who lived 1717 to 1780. Maria Theresa became a monarch after succeeding her father Charles VI in 1740 because he had no male heirs.  She is famous for asserting dominance over the nobles of her country as she made them pay taxes which not only strengthened the royal family but also strengthened the whole country.
