A noun is basically a person place or even a thing.

A car is a noun. You are a noun. I am a noun also.

A noun is a person, place, or thing. There a common nouns and proper nouns. Common nouns are general things, like the museum or the store. A proper noun would be like The Perot Museum and Walmart.
