A student might be proud that he or she has memorized a famous speech because then they know that they can tell anybody the speech and they can present the speech to the teacher and they can get an A for showing the teacher that he or she can memorize a famous speech.

A student might be proud if her or she memorized a famous speech because it was an important part of history and to know that would be useful
