lets use 24: 24/3 = 8, 24/4 = 6, 24/8 = 3
so 2/3 = 16/24
1/4 = 6/24
4/8 = 12/24
now add them together:
16/24 + 6/24 + 12/24 = 34/24 which becomes 1 and 10/24 reducing to 1 and 5/12
