Slope equation :

m = y₂-y₁/x₂-x₁

We are given the following points :

(-1, 7) & (4, -1)

Simply plug everything in :)

m = y₂ - y₁ / x₂ - x₁

Plug in :)

m = -1 - 7 / 4 + 1

Simplify.

m = -8 / 5

So, the slope is -8/5

The first answer choice is correct.
