The brain experiences most growth during the FETAL PERIOD.
During this period, the brain neural network of the brain develop and grow at a very rapid rate. During the fetal period, the brain has abundant synapses which gives the brain great flexibility for learning. Some of these synapses are removed as the baby grow older.
