In Samba's painting "Calvary" depicting the artist being whipped by soldiers, implied lines arc over the artist, connecting him with the soldier's imminent whipping, this draws a parallel to Christ with his suffering and pain, at the hands of people who represent dual forces of evil and good, with the "cross" imprinted on the back of their shirts.
