Why do you think the Inca used the ayllu system as the basis for governing in the empire?

The basis of Inca society was the ayllu, typically ayllus were families living together and sharing land, animals, and crops.The ayllus varied in size, from small farming villages to larger towns. The primary reason the Incas used this system was probably because of tradition and because it created an orderly way to maintain successful farming.
