Math homework. Please help me! What is the x-coordinate of the solution?
Y=4x+9
Y=-1+8x

So, first set the two Y values equal to each other.

4x+9 = -1+8x

Add and subtract values to both sides making the x coordinates on one side:

4x = 10

Finally, divide.

x = 10/4 = 2.5
