If you're talking about when he smashed her Camellia bushes, it happened because she insulted Atticus, as they were passing by. Jem became upset because of her comment, and on the way back, he took Scout's new baton and smashed the tops of the Camellias off. Check pg. 102 and 103 of the book. Hope this helps
