Why did some americans oppose the truman doctrine?

Because before WW2, the US had a strict DON'T GET INVOLVED IN EUROPEAN WARS mindset, and with the Truman Doctrine it completely undermined that, basically saying that the US will help any democratic country that is in the need of help.

Basically, people wanted to avoid war
