This is a Uniformly Accelerated Rectilinear Motion exercise.

We obtain the following data:

Vo = 20 m/s, Vf = 35 m/s, t = 5, a = ¿?

To calculate the acceleration, subtract the final velocity minus the initial velocity, divided by the time.

a = Vf - Vo / t

a = 35 m/s - 20 m/s / 5 s = 3 m/s².
