Ahmad. If the sum of their age is 38, how old are the three boys?

Let

a be the age of Ahmad

b be the age of Bobby

c be the age of John

a=2b

b=a/2 (1)

a-7=c(2)

a+b+c=38(3)

substitute 1 and 2 into 3

a+a/2+a-7=38

(5/2)a=45

a= 45×2/5

a=18

then b= 18/2= 9yrs

c= 18-7= 11yrs
