let a and b be the numbers,then a+b=32,b=32-a
ab=-320
a(32-a)=-320
32a-a^2=-320
a^2-32a-320=0
a^2-40a+8a-320=0
a(a-40)+8(a-40)=0
(a-40)(a+8)=0
a=40 or-8
when a=40,b=32-40=-8
when a=-8,b=32-(-8)=32+8=40
so numbers are 40 and -8
