310m squared pretend that it is full and there isnt a bit taken out of the bottom then find the area of that which is 20 x 18 m = 360 meters squared then find the area of what is "missing" which is 10 x 5 = 50 metres squared. then take the bit off of the "full" piece to give you 310 metres squared.
