4(x-3) - 7 < 2(x-3)

Expand the brackets

4x - 12 - 7 < 2x - 6

4x - 19 < 2x - 6

Bring the x to one side (I did -2x on both sides)

2x - 19 < -6

2x < 13

Divide both sides by 2 to get x on its own

x < 13/2
