Step-by-step explanation:

Given equations :-

  1. y = x²+ 8x + 12
  2. y = 2x - 13

Substitute (2) in (1) :-

  • 2x - 13 = x² + 8x +12
  • x² + 8x + 12 - 2x + 13 = 0
  • x² + 6x + 25 = 0
  • x = -6±√6²-4*1*25 /2*1
  • x = -6 ±√36-100/2
  • x = -6±√-64 / 2
  • x = -6 ± 8i / 2
  • x = -3 ±4i
