Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

first find the slope with m= [tex]\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1} \\[/tex]

M = [tex]\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{1-4}{8-4}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{-3}{4}[/tex] ← SLOPE

then add in one of the points so I am using (4, 4)

Y = mx+b

4 = [tex]\frac{-3}{4}[/tex](4)+b

4 = -3 + b

add 3 to both sides

7=b

then add those two answers into the y=mx+b formula so it would be

Y=[tex]\frac{-3}{4}[/tex] x + 7
