(x+9)² = 25  ⇒  (x+9)  = 5  or  (x+9) = -5    as  5² = 25  and  (-5)² = 25

                       

if  x+9 = 5                or   x+9 = -5

   x =  5-9                       x = -5 -9

   x = -4                           x =  -14

So answers are  :  value of   x  are   -4   or  -14
