log (base2) (1+x) + log (base2) (5-x) - log (base2) (x-2) = 3
log (base2) [(1+x)(5-x)/(x-2)] = 3
(1+x)(5-x)/(x-2) = 2^3 = 8
solve equation x = 3, -7

keep in mind when solving for x that x cannot be -1, 5 and 2 which make undefined value : log(0)

formula
log(a) + log(b) = log(ab)
log(a) - log(b) = log(a/b)
