In y = mx + b form, the slope will be in the m position and the y int will be in the b position. So, we need to put the equation in y = mx + b form.

5x + 13y = -13......subtract 5x from both sides
13y = -5x - 13...now divide both sides by 13
y = (-5/13)x -13/13
y = (-5/13)x - 1

so the slope is -5/13 and the y int is -1
