Both Spartan boys and girls would receive physical training. The boys would train to be soldiers and eventually, when they would turn 20 they would become full-time soldiers. Girls, on the other hand, would still receive physical training, just not to this extent. Women would mostly learn different combat skills and gymnastics, they thought that if a woman were healthy, they would also make healthy children.
