How do viruses differ from bacteria, fungi, and parasites?

Viruses are added to the microorganisms group, but not all researcher agree that are living organisms. This is because outside of a living cell are viruses are inert.
A very important difference in comparacy to bacteria, fungi and parasites is that viruses have ONLY one type of nucleic acid
(DNA or RNA, never both).
