In human body, meiotic activity is mostly going on in the egg cells or we say reproductive cells perform meiosis.

Meiosis is performed to make daughter cells with as half number of chromosomes as many chromosomes in the starting cell.

Meiosis is a division which changes diploid sets of chromosomes to haploid i.e in eggs. When the haploid cells made in meiosis are fertilized that will make a new gene.

I hope it helped!
