Answer: No it is not a solution

Why not? Because it makes the first inequality false when you replace the letters with the proper values. The point is (x,y) = (4,11) so x = 4 and y = 11

The inequality [tex]y \le 2x[/tex] becomes [tex]11 \le 2*4[/tex] after you replace x with 4 and y with 11. Simplify the right hand side and we end up with [tex]11 \le 8[/tex] which is a false statement. This proves that (4,11) is not a solution. A solution would make both inequalities true.
