4y² = 196

[tex]\frac{4y^{2} }{4} = \frac{196}{4}[/tex]

y² = 49

[tex]\sqrt{y^{2} } = \sqrt{49}[/tex]

|y| = 7

y = +/- 7

Answer: 7, -7
