When the narrator or central protagonist revisits key memories from their past it is called Retrospective Narrative. A Retrospective narrative is written using the past tense. Sometimes, the story is told from the perspective of an older person who recalls his past days when he was young. Other Retrospective narrations can be that from the events which happened in the past.
