The
great library at Alexandria symbolized the Greeks confidence in human
achievement given that they sought to explore the resources of “Oriental”
knowledge and
opened the library to scholars from all cultures. Together these
scholars stimulated rationality, open-mindedness and understanding and
organized universal knowledge.
