3n - 3 = 4n + 1
Add 3 to both sides
3n = 4n + 4
Subtract 4n from both sides
-n = 4
Divide by -1 on both sides
n = -4
Hope this helps! :)

Start by getting your variables together on one side of the equal sign by subtracting the 3n from both sides.
This leaves you with : -3 = n + 1
Subtract the 1 from both sides and this leaves you with the solution -4 = n
So
n = -4
